...In the Name of ALLAH SWT...

I forgot to share these anecdotes I heard from the Forum Intelek: Simfoni Alam Kekuasaan Allah. Each from Prof. Dr. Muhaya and Dr. Zulkifli.

Anecdote 1:
There's a man in his early 50's went for an eye surgery to remove cataract in his eyes. At first glance, Dr. Muhaya predicted that he might have diabetes mellitus and does not take great care of his food intake to cause the cataract. Nonetheless, the surgery went well, in fact, very well. No problem occurred. After the surgery, she found out that the man is actually a fishmonger in a small market. Despite his small income, he always make sure to do sedekah to Tahfiz centers. He donates constantly without fail.

Anecdote 2:
From a story happened in Morocco (if I'm not mistaken), there's a very fat guy registering for a medical checkup at a hospital. He is sharp-tongued, with an almost arrogant personality. His rash words got on the nerves of a certain doctor in the hospital, so the doctor asked his assistant to particularly reject the fat guy's registration to be checked up by him. The doctor hoped that the fat guy would be treated by other doctor or in other hospitals. So the fat guy registered at a different hospital.

One day, the doctor was supposed to receive a patient, but it turned out that the patient coming in an ambulance was the fat guy! Actually, the fat guy was assigned to be sent to different hospital, but he was placed into the wrong ambulance. In the end, the doctor still treated the fat guy without problem. The doctor found out that the fat guy was a perfume seller; every time he puts perfume into bottles, he will say selawat to Rasulullah saw for each drop. Because The Prophet Muhammad loves perfume.

These stories are true stuff. We shouldn't judge people rashly, they might appear poor, have bad characters, but they might do other things better than us. Small things like donation to people in need and selawat, if done continuously with sincere heart, can help us in overcoming hard things in our life. We should always reflect on ourselves. Try to improve our own characters first, build a deep, strong foundation of sincerity. InshaaAllah, we can become a better person when we stop, see and reflect on what is happening around us.

May ALLAH guide us through until the end, ameen.

...In the Name of ALLAH S.W.T...

Let me share what I learnt from Forum Intelek: Simfoni Alam Kekuasaan Tuhan at UKM on April 24. I cannot recall everything since my memory often fails me. Overall, panelists Prof. Dr. Muhaya and Brother Shah Kirit gave excellent explanations that night. Sorry the topics are jumping around.

Wonders of Eyes
- ability to see is innate, as babies are born, they can see as soon as they open their eyes
- eyes have 126 million photoreceptor cells and 1.2 million optic nerve fibres - things as small as eyes can let us see the wonderment of His creations
- use eyes to see, mind to interpret, heart/emotion to evaluate
- eyes are a creative design by Allah, Darwin couldn't explain how eyes can work using his Evolution theory (everything comes by chance)

Darwinian Evolution Theory
- based on natural selection, where the fittest will survive
- if human being is evolved from some race, should be some makhluk perantara in between - but no strong evidence from fossils is found (there was an instance of discovery of fossils representing human predecessor, such as Lucy, but such are controversial)

Where did the 1st molecule come from?
- Einstein proposed that universe is static
- but Edwin Hubble discovered that universe is actually expanding
- this means, looking back in time, universe was developed from a point of singularity, where there is no time, no space and no matter occur
- in Quran, some surahs mention about heaven and earth come from nothing
- the sun wouldn't rotate forever, it's also a creation, someday it will die off - Quran mentioned this, "matahari dan bulan akan beredar pada paksinya untuk suatu masa yang telah ditetapkan untuknya"

Advice to students:
- Food is divided to 3: for physical (food drinks), for emotion (compliments from other people), for spiritual (remember Him, search for redha Tuhan as our objective)
- muhasabah diri - do reflection on what's happening to us, redha pada qada' dan qadar
- 2 important emotions: kesyukuran & kasih sayang
- konsep keikhlasan dalam belajar: belajar untuk tahu, bukan untuk lulus pelajaran.

Ok, that's all for now.
